I've been in the middle of a really dark depressive episode, and since helping you helps me, I thought I'd remind you that depression doesn't care if you are 'fine' by societal standards. It doesn't care about color, religion or class. You are allowed to be depressed, even when people in your life say you shouldn't.
Today’s Mom PSA, which I need to get better at doing.
Today’s Mom PSA is understanding if your mental health could be controlled solely by the positivity of your situation, by which I mean, you know:
I have a good life at my house,
I can pretty much eat what I want,
my day is pretty fluid,
I’m getting to do art and writing so…
What do I have to be depressed about?
That.
I want to remind you that does not mean you should not be depressed.
Because if that was the case, we’d still have Robin Williams.
