Daily Mom Hug | Your Life isn't Over
This isn't a period but a semi-colon in the book of your life.
Good morning, fam. Today I want to remind that you’re not alone in feeling overwhelmed and stuck in a dark place. That stupid saying you’ve probably heard your whole life is true:
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
But, Mom, this feeling is just…
I know, kiddo.
I know, because I have been there, and I visit that darkness several times a year.
It’s like a wet wool blanket around your shoulders that no one else can see with whispers in your head that no one else can hear. Those whispers lie. Yes, sometimes they sound like echoes of people in your life, but that doesn’t make them truths.
Let me repeat that:
The people in your life who have told you that you are worthless, or insignificant, or otherwise less than are liars. Liars.
And people who say these things, who spend their time and energy bringing other people down, especially children, are miserable. They hate themselves and they feel better (some how) or in better control of their lives when they bring other people down to where they are.
This means that their stupidity isn’t about you at all.
Just them.
And if you ever need the reminder, you just let me know.
My world is better with you in it.
Love,
Your Mom
