Daily Mom Hug | Nerd Out
Hurt people hurt people. But they don't get a pass.
Good morning, fam!
Today I want to share a video with you from one of my favorite people, Wil Wheaton. Here, a little girl asked him how to deal with being called a nerd at school.
"When a person makes fun of you, when a person is cruel to you, it has nothing to do with you...it's about them feeling bad about themselves. They feel sad. They don't get positive attention from their parents. They don't feel as smart as you."
Don't ever let them make you feel bad because you love something they decided is only for nerds."
What you love is valid, as long as it’s healthy and doesn’t hurt you or anyone else. Don’t let the opinions of miserable people ruin that fun for you.

Love you,
Your Mom
As a nerd myself, I concur. I hope there is a time when people don't feel that they have to defend themselves when talking about their hobbies/interests. When I was in school, I was definitely not "popular." I just figured then, as I do now, that you like what you like and that should be the end of it.
